Wonderwall thoughts

Cher from Clueless (Disclaimer: Gif not mine)
I know you've done this thing before-- lying in your bed thinking what were you doing in this earth? asking yourself questions like "am I born for a reason?" like "do I have a mission for God?" Thinking about infinities and constellations in the sky. Okay jibberish talking aside but seriously, I might smack the person who's going to wake me up while I'm in a state of trance. *kidding*

Sometimes I feel like a valedictorian, a winner, an achiever (Not in academics) but back when *spg alert* I was in my moms' internal organ; one out in a million sperm racing to the finish line-- that's my momma's egg cell. 'told you SPG. Another thought of mine was about a 'timeless place'. Weird I know. For example, what if time, calendar, clock, and even compass was not invented back then. Only light and darkness-- no tomorrow, no yesterday. If your birthday is on friday and today is monday. You can just wait for 'later' to celebrate it. Nah, forget about it. You'll only confused yourself.

Breaking an epiphany is an enchanting feeling. It's like you're in the shoes of Walter Mitty. But sometimes, being an skeptical philosopher can lead you in a bad state. "Joke center" for your peers if they don't have that same outlook in life just like yours. Don't worry kid, welcome to the Dead poets society. I wrote this article for you, and for all of us whose still not stopping to look for an elixir in the humanity while looking at a blank space or to that wonderwall.

Enjoy the ride

"Focus on the goal." That is what many people are into since the beginning of everything on who you want to be.

My mom is an elementary teacher. So back in my little days, I was really good in school. I aced every exam that was given to me. Homeworks are piece of cake because of my mom's guidance, therefore people thought me to be smart. But as I grow older, I realized that I was learning from my own experiences. Like no need for more parental guidances. One night, as I took a sip of my hot chocolate. I asked my mom several questions about education. I was bored on our conversation so I pulled a joke on her "Mama, gusto mo ba magkaroon ako ng Latin honor pag graduate ko sa college?" Studying should be enjoyable, hindi masyadong seryoso". In that moment, I realized on why I'm so obsessed for that high grade I was reaching for like a thirsty man on a desert.

Maybe some of you are thinking why am I telling the conversation we talked about.  It's because many people is aiming for the goal so 'focused' that they don't even realizes anymore the value of journey through reaching their dreams. Yes, it is a good attitude to be focused towards your goals in life but in the end of the day, it is more important that there is a certain part in your life that you become recklessly happy not even feeling regretful. But that mindset in people's mind would never change unless they will put a little rearrangement on their own perspectives and outlook.

People are diamonds, who you are right now is the result of your achievements and actions. "Live, laugh, and love." and 'Carpe diem' seize everything starting today. The next time you are starting to aim for that goal again, don't forget to have fun because your journey is a long-long road that has full of bus stops. So later in life, you can always cherish that moment while looking at the old photo album on that 'goal' you whatever wanted to.

It's 'BER' month!

backdrop photo source: maiwanderlass.blogspot.com
They say, Filipinos have the longest christmas season in the world 'cause whenever the calendar hits September 1st, we pinoy feel quickly the spirit of Christmas. Anyway, I enlisted the things that makes me go smile and silently giggle whenever I hear christmas Season!

1.Bibingka & Putobombong
Woah, who doesn't love that Rice cake filled with cheese and yummy salted egg and that sticky violet thing with sugar and coconut shreds on top. YES! please :)

2.'Mabilis Magdilim'
During Ber-months, nighttime is more longer than daytime. Some Elementary schools here in the Philippines have "Daylight saving time" in which the school dismisses classes earlier than their said dismissal time to keep the child's safety "daw".  I'm a nocturnal person so every activity being done during nights/midnight/dawn is in favor to me.

3.Sembreak (Semestral Break)
Every college student is looking forward to this 3-2 week break. Some, plans to spend their break at their hometown. Others are planning fore some road trip or an 'outing'."Damn you Finals, Good bye Last Semester"

4.Trick or Treat/ Halloween Party
This usually happens at the last weeks of October. Kids go wear their costumes and knocks on the door of their neighbors to ask for some candies. And so adults and celebrities to.

5 All Saints day & All souls day
Many Filipino families are treating this days as their 'Family Reunion'. Syempre, we need to reminisce din for our co- family member who's now with the hands of our Almighty God.

6.Sweater Weather
Cold breeze + Swiss miss Chocolate w/ tiny marshmallows + pre-christmas movies on HBO in your comfy Sweater.. YES Please! At last, you can now wear that hoodie or sweater you've bought from an 'End of season sale' in Terranova, Cotton on or in an online shop.

7. Simbang Gabi
Everytime the calendar hits it's 16th day of December, Churches here in the Philippines is starting put on Christmas lights and preparing for the night's 'Simbang Gabi' or Late night Mass. Filipino has this urban legend that if you consequently attended this '10 late night mass' starting from 16th to 25th day of December, your wish will come true on the last day of the mass.

That's all :) Ikaw anong mga gusto mo sa Ber-months? comment below

At ikaw, syempre meron kang pangalawang choice. No Choice eh nakakatamad mag pa reconsider.

'Help Others, Help the Poor; Pay 200 pesos' Oh? Bakit may kailangang minimum na perang maitutulong? Dapat diba bukal lang sa puso mo? Aguy! Mas konti ang bayarin, meron din namang Church groups like "YFC" or Youth for Christ.

Radioactive Wanderlust

It's been a month since I started my college life, and for the first weeks; all I can say is "ibang-iba na po sa High school" Hahaha! One wrong fckin move and you're dead. But life updates aside, here are some things that I feel so nostalgic. I call it RadioActive Wanderlust because it gives you an odd epiphany everytime you feel it. PS. I'm a nocturnal dawg.

1. I love how the bathroom mirror moist everytime the hot water running through my body coming from the shower

2. I really like eating  during midnight while watching TV reruns.

3. Jogging in the city at dawn, smog free.

4. Going up to the roofs at midnight, just watching the city lights glow in your naked eye.

5. Curling up in bed with your favorite book, much cozy if it's raining.

6. Driving in the expressway at night while listening to some Stevie Wonder songs.

7. Looking up in the sky when stars are bright, thinking how big was universe is.

8. Cold weather.

9. Sunday morning breakfast.

10. Pillow hugging while day dreaming.

11. Watching movies at your Laptop until you feel sleepy

Heart to heart talk: Lessons I learned from High school

Last night, while waiting for the show I've watching, my friend Donna and I talked about so many things, some were serious stuff actually. But we still manage not to lose the fun vibe between us, It's about what life lessons I've learned in High school. We rarely talk too much back in High school because of those private things we've been through but we still talk to each other with the help of social networking sites.
Okay so the first thing I've learned (by myself) is "There were things that better left unsaid" or stuffs you should keep by yourself. If you think the problem or issue you were dealing was easy for you or you can handle it. I think it's better for you not to say or procrastinate it to your friends because it'll just 'cause the issue get bigger. In the long run, It'll be a throwback issue when you guys set an open forum in the future.

The second is you should "Study well not study hard". As a student we faces many challenges throughout our school year. There were projects, quizes, and exams that you should do WELL to excell. What differs from the two is when you study hard you might experience stress, be in a competitive manner or worse, pressure. So I suggest to study well, because you can balance your studies which is your priorities and your social life as a teen or a person. That's what my High school Junior english teacher said.

And the third one is "You cannot always get what you want" more like "Life is not a wishing grant factory" (correct me if im wrong) from The Fault in Our stars. It just appeared to me that even you were 'The apple of the eye' in your school because of your witty, funny, and cool personality does mean all the people you will meet was always in favor of you. As a kid who's kind of spoiled because I always get what Mcdonalds Kiddie meal commercial flashes on screen, it putted a set in my mind that life was easy. But as time goes fly, things were changing and then I realized I was entering the teenhood or facing more mature stuff. And that I should be brave and strong enough despite all of this challenges.

So do you guys learned something new about yourself? Share your thoughts below. I'm glad to here it.

Movie Review: The Fault in our Stars

"Okay? Okay." I knew all of you heard this line from the movie The Fault in our stars. Okay, so this is my first ever movie review in my blog. Last June 5, 2014. Me together with Chin and her school mates Jeemel and Eula of St. Sholastica's College watched TFIOS at Robinson's movie world Ermita; and I figured out some changes of the book to the movie. I read TFIOS last year; September I guess. Borrowed it from my friend Krizzaleen who had a hard coverback copy of it (naks! Yaman)

Okay so my rating for this movie is 7/10. The movie was good but because of it's some changes from the book it gave me a doubt while watching the film. Some of the few changes are the Oranji scene where they should be taking their dinner outside the restaurant overlooking the Canal. The second was the saying in Water's house. It should be "Without pain; we couldn't know joy." Which is my favorite quote from the book not the rainbow thingy, but still it's a good movie.

I know it's a dream come true for all of you who patronized John Green's work to make this movie happen. According to Candy Magazine the movie should have this scene at the airport where a little girl asking Hazel why does she have a tank and a 'thing' in her nostrils and behind that kid was a cameo of no other than- John Green. Another news I've read in the net was they were planning to create a movie about John Green's another book- Paper towns. So have you watched the movie yet or just starting to head on the cinemas? Well go grab this tissues. Hahaha! 'Cause TFIOS fever is all the rage!

My favorite motivational words

All of us experienced loneliness and low self-esteem. I'm a kind of person who's always cheering up people specially those who's in need or in the state of melancholia. That's why I enlisted my favorite motivational words.

"Prove nothing, but show something"- superjace28. (That's me)

Proving something to a person is like creating a promise. It takes guts to prove something. Specially when someone challenges you and you know by yourself that you can't. Well, nothing is impossible for a humble human.

"After all they're just words"- The Carrie Diaries.

Who says language isn't powerful? When someone throws you a criticism or say something isn't nice about you. Always remember this mantra, stand straight, shrugg of your hair and say those words :)

"I can do all these through him who gives me strength."-Philippians 4 : 13

I studied in a Christian school since Kindergarten 'till Sixth grade, and every week our teachers helps us to memorize a verse. This is one of my favorite bible verses. I always whisper this wherever I feel like losing hope.

"Have the courage to fail big and stick around. Make them wonder why you're still smiling"-Elizabeth Town.

Also one of my favorite movies, Kirsten Dunst plays a role here of an optimistic person who cheers and uplift the self esteem of a big time loser businessman. I always think of these whenever I fail something then goes back to the track after.

"For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future." Jeremiah 29:11

So you did not passed your "dream college" exam or rejected by a company that is highly standard. Don't you worry, God always have a better plan for all of us. And as the bible verse said, it'll not give us harm, but a hope to prosper.

"In every dark clouds, there's always a silver lining"- Unknown

One of my favorite sayings everytime I feel so lonely.

"Without pain, we couldn't know joy."- John Green, The Fault in our stars

Feeling sad because of that recent break up? Go read this!

"Challenge's are spices in life."- Father Nestor (Nestea) Gungon

One of my favorite sayings back when I was in High school. It was our First friday mass and those words couldn't get out of my mind. The best qoute if you ever have a problem.

As we grow older

As we grow older, we realize that some things were changed. That things will be differ the way we used to. You will realize that you'll choose to go shop at American eagle or Bench rather than Oshkosh. Realize that you'll choose a quarter pounder rather than a kiddie meal on Mcdonalds. Choose to watch MTV over Nickelodeon. And choosing to go out with friends rather than staying home.

Keane (band) once realizes me in their song entitled "everybody's changing" that as we grow older, the problems and challenges that we will be facing in life is getting a little bit tougher. Not just in life, but also in love, family, peers, and personal stuffs. One hot afternoon, I caught my self starring at the ceiling thinking about things I didn't understand back then that was now clear to me. Laughed at some curves and mistakes that I did. No regrets just reminisce.

As we grow older, someone will call us "ate/kuya". That finishing your studies is more important than being your all time dream of becoming a millionaire. And most importantly as we grow older and older, we should learn how to look back from where we belong. Kept a foot on the ground while we were soaring high. Life is a long journey of life lessons.. just keep your faith to God and life still goes on.

The Naked and famous

In this fast paced living generation like this, everything is instant. Technology keeps getting better everyday. I remember going to Starbucks just to fill up my sweet tooth that was craving for some coffee jelly frappuccino. There was a kid asking her mother to buy him an Ipad, but I'm not aiming for the needy kid. But the girl across the table that I was looking into. A girl taking some selfies of her face with a frappuccino on her cheeks, posing a duckface, a simple smile, a sad-kid face pose, stick-out tongue. Hummm.. Instagram worthy picture. Tap-tap; my generation.

As a teenager we sometimes seeks for fun, adventure, love, and sometimes fame. Don't say no, hello.. are you in favor to your new profile picture in Facebook without a single like, Hell NO. Actually being famous or seeking fame is not a bad thing, It think it was labeled on Maslow's Hierarchy of needs; it was stated on the 3rd or 4th line of the pyramid. But what if fame takes too much of ourselves? does it mean we're starting to get naked to? By the word naked, the first thing that is popping in our heads was an undressed human, that's is how teens today would do just to get the right amount of fame to themselves. You can be a famous person in different ways, by your looks, your attitude, the way you act or treat other people, when you're an A+ student, or having a great sense of humor. Mine was the last one.

Den, 16. Used to be bullied and disrespected  in social media sites because of her lewd and daring pictures giving her a bad review about herself. I asked her once why does she likes to take pictures of herself when she just woke up straight from the bed with her cameo cleavage. "Nothing, I just feel so vain that morning. Ang ganda ko kasi duon parang di-kakagising" despite of her "bitch labeled" self, I asked her prankly if she's aware on how people see's her. "Wala naman akong pakielam sakanila, hayaan mo lang sila ma-ingit".

Maybe it's because of the song "Forever young" or the popular teen word "YOLO" (You only live once) that's why sometimes teens seeks too much finding themselves in different way. Giving them a grand feeling when a lot of people know's you. That'll get to the point when people see's them differently. That being enough and well known is okay. After all, we're all human who needs sometimes a "miss" feeling from our loved ones, friends, and family. And life is journey of life lessons, maybe Young bloods like mine will realize the things we did later in ourlives. Okay, so now let's take a selfie.

Summer 2014: sunscreen x sunburns

This Summer, me and my cousin together with his husband--( soon to be) went to different places. From Nature's falls in Rizal to virgin beaches in the Batangas. From Clubhouse pool to Iba, Zambales.

DARANAK FALLS (TANAY, RIZAL)

First we went to 'Daranak Falls' in Tanay, Rizal. It is one of the province's tourist destination. It was a mainstream for all the city people when it comes to a fast getaway escaping the city. 20-30 minutes from Katipunan Ave. and you'll there! I used to go there when I was a kid, I still can remember but it was obscure when I rethink of it.

 ...

BUROT BEACH (CALATAGAN, BATANGAS)
2 weeks after, we went to Burot beach in Calatagan, Batangas (We got accompany) together with my cousin, Kuya Nilo and his cousins with EK. It was our second time to visit burot and there's quite a lot of people not just like when we visited it last September 2013, I think we're only 5 campers there.

I have to confess, it was my first time to drink 'Red horse beer' and I drunk 4 bottles of it with a starter of Emperador light, GOSH! who's wasted and suffered from hangover the next day. It was also bizarre when we're packing our things to leave Burot then suddenly, EK left the car keys on the trunk and we all have no choice but to crash the 1/4 of the car's window. Tsk Tsk :) I thought I got super tanned by there but thanks to the SPF lotion because it save my skin.

1 week after, we went to my cousin's house together in Cavite to watch the Pay-per-view rematch fight of Pacquiao and Bradley. But instead of watching the game, I decided to watch over EK at the clubhouse swimming pool. No Choice! me and my nephew Chelai go swim with her. It was a fun day though I got some serious sunburn because I didn't put any sunblock on my skin. Who to blame? :) It is Sunday and we ended the night by having a mass with palaspas in our hands at the nearest church.
...

BATAAN & ZAMBALES

A week after, here we go! WERE GOIN' NORTH! Oops! Holy Week, it's time to magnilay-nilay at magbalik loob sa diyos. We still remember Christ's even though we're off set for vacation. Thursday morning we leave Manila to go to Bulacan to fetch Kuya Nilo's relatives and went to a Pabasa still in Bulacan. After the Pabasa thing we went straight to Bataan to rest our body, before going to bed I watched a movie of Regine Velasquez and it was quite good :) also EK took a photo of us of Karl, Kuya Nilo's nephew.

EK's instax photos
Taro the super cute backyard dog

Friday morning, I woke up with a freeze feeling, someone put a prank on me! Who turned on the Fan!? :)We ate Eggs, Fried rice, Danggit (salty sun-dried fish), and a lobster *wow* after we ate our breakfast, No ligo deretso Botolan, Zambales na! but we brushes our teeth naman.

cumshot

It's almost evening when we got there so the house keeper prepares our dinner for that night and took some shots of Tequila, we also watch some couple of movies before hitting the bed. Saturday morning, WHOAH! I woke up with another prank! Kuya Nilo pulled our feet to wake us up, my goodness. We ate Hotdogs, meat loafs, and fried rice that morning. While on our way to Iba, Zambales, we were looking for some slurpee and 7/11 doesn't have any of those, thank god I found one. We also fetch Tom from their house who has a beach resort, nice diba? :)

From left to right: Tom, boo, Kuya Nilo, EK, ME, Karl and Kuya Embeng at the back

Touchdown Lindamar by the sea, It's our second time around here together with the same old gang but this time without PJ (Karl's cousin). Some prepare foods and WE enjoyed the sea on a summer day. Someone visited us from Palauig? I guess. It's Kuya Dex, Kuya Ernie's cousin. The ladies and gentlemen were off to swim and we still have a visitor coming that's why I presented my self to cook the Liempo in the uling. First time ko lang mag ihaw! Hahahaha! But still, it was a survival skill. COMMERCIAL: watch my cooking skills in Zambales

The sun was setting and the tides were getting strong. Karl, Tom, and I also discussed about Summer music festivals around the world like Summer siren or Tomorrowland, the one in Belgium. We all have a taste EDM. On the road going back to Botolan, we sang "Biglang liko" Ate Rio's currently favorite music. The next day, we went to this place called Simbahan sa Bundok where celebrities used to go there like Vilma Santos and Sharon Cuneta, Driving home back to Bataan, we went to Royal Subic stop by and bought some addictive Frit-C's and ate some famous mami house in Olonggapo. Bataan, we said bye's to them na and prepare to leave the house, BUT we're still going back to Zambales in May somehow cause' they got a fiesta there in Botolan.

My summer was really awesome! Thanks to the crew and see you again :)

The Green & Gold Premonition

One night, while on the expressway. Homebound from Subic Bay, we stopped by a pit-stop. A pub named 'Shell of Asia" there, are coffee shops, convenient stores, burger joints, diners, and also boutiques. While looking for my aunt's running shoes at Nike Store. I was rummaging through the stalls of their dri-fits but unfortunately there's no left Miami HEAT shirt. So I decided to choose another design. Across the sports bottle rack, I saw the UAAP shirts section and there the ONE BIG FIGHT (which is an Atenista shirt, bought it because I'm a fan of their VB team and Amy AHOMIRO) shirt catches my eye. I went there and took the shirt 'cause my tita was hurrying me up to choose a design. And there I saw beneath the Ateneo shirt, a Gold shirt that has a "CHARGE" printed on it. I knew it was a Far Eastern University (FEU) shirt. And by that moment, I knew it'll give me a sign for a another adventure.

Maybe there's a sign why I didn't pass my "I used to be my dream college" school. It's because somewhere University belt in Manila, there was a college that was destined for me. I took my FEU-CAT last March 31, 2014 I was little nervous before the exam because the last time I said to myself that I had a stock knowledge.. I didn't pass the test. So there before the said day, I reviewed many lessons specially in Biology and Geometry. The exam was pretty tough tho some were a piece of cake for me, as always, it's a time pressure that bothers me. After the exam, I went to buy a Vanilla Milk tea to reward myself. Because the exam was computerized, the exam results was released early. So later that night I logged in to their site and it shocked me because there was a sign saying "Congratulations" and then I screamed and released a big sigh from my stressed body.

Thanks God and to the whole team. I know I deserve to be a Tamaraw, so follow my life as I take my education to the whole new level... Hello College!

20 FACTS 'BOUT ME

Hello everyone! last Saturday I just graduated from High school and that day was so memorable for me. FIN, kidding :)
