The art of contentment

It's hard to be contented for a person whose a 'Goal getter'. I know being a Goal getter is a good attitude because it's a key to your success. But sometimes, being a Goal getter isn't always good. There's also a downside, it's the itch of being discontented.

Well there's also a popular saying that "Life is Unfair". Yeah, life is unfair when it does not cooperate in your favor. When it does not cooperate in your favor, you'll get sad. Because the truth is you can't always get what you want. And that's fine because it will teach you the  art of contentment.

"Without pain, we couldn't know joy"- John Green, The Fault in Our Stars

See? That's right, so if you're sad right now because life doesn't cooperate with you, It's FINE. You'll get through of it.

For now, think about that It's not an excuse to be sad because of the things that you don't have, but it's making on something that you do have.

Maybe, this is not the right time for you to have that thing. Don't worry because good things comes to those who wait and it will come to you soon, in God's perfect time. *wink*

MOVIES: A lot like Love

I've been watching feel-good movies ever since I found out that indie films were nice. I got so dependent on them since indie films gave you this unexplainable sober feeling towards the end of the film. But this time, I kept Wes Anderson films aside for a while and hit some Chick-flick.

A lot like Love is a 2005 Romantic-Comedy/Drama film directed by Nigel Cole, starring Ashton Kutcher and Amanda Peet. The film mainly revolves about the building up "friendly" relationship of two strangers met on the plane to New York city over the course of 7 years.

I found this film while playing shuffle of early 2000's Alternative Rock playlist on Youtube. It just so happen that Aqualung's Brighter than Sunshine was the OST of this film. And I'm a real sucker for Motion Pictures Soundtracks #CrazyAss

For me, this movie is a combination of Before Sunrise (1999) + Reality Bites (1994) + Alanis Morisette hit song Ironic since it's a Boy meets Girl film about an overachiever guy and a simply troubled girl.

The film has a great list of soundtracks too, Third-Eye Blind, The Getaway People, Eagle Eye Cherry to name a few. Click this.  Overall, I will give this film 4 Stars rating since the story was a bit predictable and unique at the same time.

I survived Depression

I survived depression

I've hit rock bottom-No I'm not broke, I mean yea because I'm a college student but no, not in terms of moolah.

I got depressed. And it's crazy.

Okay, it started when my grandma (whose I've been taking care of) passed away on May 1st. Damn, she was gone. I didn't cry.

I thought it is just that I want her to be rested since she's been very week and I can see her suffering in the special bed on our living room. But no, I realized after a week she was buried that she was gone.
I call it 'Delayed Depression'. It's a real soul eater, I tell you.

Why delayed? Okay, two of my aunt lives abroad. One is coming from California, the other works in Dubai. Since my grandma died, they have to come to respect for their mom before she was buried six feet underground.

And I know for that moment that our house will be filled again with great people since A. It's a reunion for my grandma's kids and B. Yah, reunion.

They stayed in our house for two weeks. When your house is filled with these balikbayan people you haven't see for years, for sure, your hospitality will hinder the sadness brought by their presence.
Gosh, for me, the whole month of May is a a total rollercoaster ride.

Even though May is my birth month, thank God my depression didn't really messed up my Summer classes. Which kinda did, but at least. I SURVIVED

Fuck, whoo. 💨
