If you're just going to mock the cool kids

This is a story of a Just Kid meets Cool Kid.

a. Cool Kid is an existential Gen Z teenager, he wears an Air Max, wears Jogger Pants, he adores brands like Stüssy, Nike, or any brand that is affiliated to sex, weeds, billions. He listens to Drake and Fetty Wap. When you ask him to spell 'god' He'll say C-H-R-I-S  B-R-O-W-N. A 'Fuccboi'

b. Just Kid is a nobody, He listens to Arianna Grande, Jessie J, or Freddie Aguilar. He wears clothes that his mom gave him last christmas. He have friends for like a two-or-three that can be his slaves. He's always Horny. He's probably a gay, whose not 'gay'. He hate everything that goes mainstream. 'Basic Bitch' and 'Fuccboi' were his favorite words. Just Kid hates anything that goes POP.

Just Kid has a lot of insecurities within himself, he wants his guilt to be released, he gathered his things in a large bowl with his ingredients-a cup of insecurities, a pinch of basic photoshop skills, a drizzle of envy, and drop of HATE. *Evil Laugh* And from then on, Just Kid never showed up to the people, his identity is hidden behind the thin line of your LED screen. U don't care if they wear the latest kicks or drink Starbucks to flood your Snapchat. It's our generation, it's POP CULTURE. If you're just going to MOCK all of these things, how can our generation be known in the future, It's like the 80's Disco Scene and Neon clothings, 90's rise of Grunge and Heroin Chic, 2000's rise of HipHop culture and RnB.

THIS IS OUR TIME, it's our decade! EDM, Crop Top, Snapchat, Jogger Pants, Nike Roshe, IT"S OURS!

So just love all these things you little sweet insecured fuckery. And don't be like The Grinch.

What's with the White Chucks?

What's with the White Chucks? ( Converse Chuck Taylor) I've seen several people wearing it. Is it the new in thing? or it's just a coincidence.

I spent my Christmas in a transient home in Baguio. over the course of three days, I've seen lot's of people wearing it. So I did a very little research on Instagram, I typed #WhiteChucks
such a hot guy, too bad i didn't know him :(
the results were kinda not-that-convincing to say that the White Chuck Taylors were the new in thangg.

Anyway, here's me, rocking my cold christmas night in Baguio wearing a New York Knicks vintage sweater (Yes, real vintage) with American Eagle shorts, leg warmers, and my trusty sun-washed Vans.

My Hair Dye History

I never dyed my hair back in High School because we weren't allowed to do so. It's in our school policy not to wear any stuff that would not make you look like not a student. So summer after high school, I got my very first hair dye; which is so-not-good for me. I don't even have pictures of it. So the following photos showcases the timeline of how my hair gone so far through hair dying.

1. Toffee Dream
This color is a mixture of 3 hair colorants. Ash Blonde, Medium Coffee, and Clear tone. My classmates even praised my hair for being unique and fab. I can't tell them the formula for this one because believe me or not. This hair color is just an accident of mixing 3 hair colors in a same bowl.

2. Fake Blondie-na
Out of the blue, my friend Ryan decided to bleach my hair. But I decided to ditch that color since it makes me look like a ghetto or something. Hahaha!

3. Unicorn Hair
Look at this one! It's so kawaii ♥ so after one week of my hair being bleached. I decided to color up my hair into some ombre-shit color from blue to violet. The pink hair is actually violet though.

4. ULTRAVIOLET

After a loooooooong hiatus of hair dying, I decided to make a comeback with this hair color. It's a mixture of violet and blue with 12 percent oxidizing agent.

5. Mermaid Hair
Currently, my hair color is now in the state of faded/fading green and some people love it, others don't, well criticism is inevitable.

No Tulog, No Singko Semester

I've never done anything unhygienic before nor makaranas ng pagod na ganito katindi. This semester is really memorable to me-seriously the best College block so far. This semester, I learned to write an article in a newspaper and that when writing a news feature; it's hard to write a short feature than writing it up long. Pardon my english. I learned to write Business letters, appreciate art, learned to edit videos in Avid Media Composer, trained to become a modern ninja with Arnis sticks, and lastly, I learned the importance of solidarity and oneness when you're in a production team. I also dyed my hair twice, I call it ULTRAVIOLET and Blue Vengeance.

*This semester, I used to sleep without brushing my teeth and waking up late not having a shower, yikes!*

So, I'm still with my friends from the previous semester that I had. I'm with Shane, my good friend who can't stand on her own feet but now semi-independent. Re-connected with the rest of 10 musketeers, I also met these girls from Bulacan, Dianne, Ange, Rian, and Zaf. A bunch of the good kids with great talents- Rhythm and the Gang. These ultra good kids- Andre, Jen, Robert, and Tristan. Girls from other block, Jade & Julie. Angel, Deanna, Gheal. I also met Romer, Shaira, with Lady- the gang of what we call Teatro Malou (Malouwag)  minus Lady.

About our prod team, No Tulog No Singko Productions, we won 9/12 awards for our production. My team and I also won the Best Make Up Design award. I cried glitters last during the awards night.

So in a nutshell, this semester is all about sleepless nights, news writing, video editing, debuts, hair dye-ing and drama, drama, drama, and production rehearsals.

xoxo

Bad Dream

Last Tuesday, I woke up with a palm on my forehead. Phew! Thank God it's just a dream. A Bad dream. Phew.

Okay, I dreamed of killing a dog. An innocent furry cute dog. Grabe! Alam mo yung dream na surreal! So in my dream, I accidentally pulled the trigger of a gun whose bullets is tiny bombs. And then, the dog sniffed it, then KABAM! The bomb exploded to the dogs' face. Huhuhu! I guess killing a dog would be the thing that I would never ever do. (#StopYulinFestival)

Then, my cousin, whose kinda tough, took a pistol, and said to me to close my eyes but I can't and then he shot the dog's head.

...................

*alarm clock*

Phew! Phew! Thank God it's just a dream. That morning, I visited my cousin's dog- Lilo and Cheaper. To feel my warm love for them.

ResponsibiliTEEN

"Hindi ka pwede mag Boyfriend/ Girlfriend until you finish College." That line is a nine-word horror story for most teens.

Why would our parents hinder us to the things that makes us happy? Hindi ba nila naranasan yun nung mga teenagers ba sila? Hmmm...

I somehow figured out why parents prevent us to be in a relationship. It's not because that the joy of of love might steal our focus to our priorities (i.e studies, family) , but maybe the aftermath of it- the break up.

That's what bugging our parents' mind if ever we'll get into a relationship. They're afraid that (maybe) we're still young to handle hard things. That we'll lost your balance in your studies and get a failing grade. It's hard for our parents to see their grown-up child suffering.

But I guess, being young and in-love is part of a man's life. Who wants to live a life without love? None.

My only tip for my co-youngsters, if ever you wanted to be in a relationship, is that you guys need to show to your parents that you're mature enough to handle big things. Like cooking, cleaning your own room, running errands, cleaning your pet's turd. So in that case, they'll eventually see that you're mature enough to handle your responsibilities. Okay ;)

Jason

Cheat Sheet: Hipster's guide to rainy days

If you know the word millennial, likes thrift shopping, wished to have a pair of Doc Martens even though they're expensive af, quiet afternoons, tumblr, indie films, knew VSCO before it went mainstream, listen/ listened to Foster the People, likes corndog (does it makes sense?), X-men enthusiast, your hangout place is Cubao (you know what I mean, Hehe- X), hates Justin Bieber (just kidding). Well then, congratulations! Welcome to the club flower child, you're a hipster!

PS. Hipster kids don't die-- we multiply (joke, ang corny)

Read: crime fictions and creepy stories

Cold Weather + Warm Blanket + Paranormal stories= Yes please!

Manila Noir (left) by Jessica Hagedorn,
Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children (right) by Ransom Riggs

Listen: Grunge music

Bands like The Smiths, The Shins, The Psychedelic Fur, Lifehouse.

Watch: Indie flicks

Instead of watching Animes and Vampire Diaries, why don't you take a brake from the TV series and give these films a shot. They can be boring and sleepy because of it's cinematography (Hello, kaya nga indie film eh) but I promise you will definitely love this movie genre after you watch these films.

Read: Scout Magazine

Clean: Your thing + things

I've been cleaning my room since the day the rain hasn't stop pouring. I really like to clean my stuffs during cold weather (even at midnight) cause it's less distracting and it's less sticky if ever you perform acrobatic stunts just to get rid of that dust under your bed.

Toy Gun, Camera, Boots, and Barbies.

Draw: & sketch

Bring your inner artsy self during this rainy season.

That is a Banana split, not a crotch you perv.

Eat: seafood ramen for the teenage soul
